The trip book reads:

"Today started 5.00am finished 7.30am due to unforseen circumstances.

Birds eye view from front upper deck. Lorry on wrong side of the road - we were on the right side of the road - we were right over our side coming around the corner & the bastard drove right into us. The driver is a GERMAN. All the locals declared a PUBLIC HOLIDAY to come & stare at the bus. Gathered for many miles around.

KNACKERS IS KNACKERED!

LETS GET STONED!!!

4 – 5 people suffered the intoxicating effects of “Ganga”- extremely interesting.

Corrie and Sara tried the pineapple wine. Steve bought it. We drank it. Where is it? Sara and I want it.

was great.

local boys took a fancy to Sara and Corrie."

I was still waiting in Kathmandu for the Bugs, and was shocked when Gary Hayes arrived back in Kathmandu with no decker, no punters, and with the radiator in six big pieces and many small pieces.

Gary asks if there are any spare decker radiators in Kathmandu? - "NO"

Or if Top Deck will fly in a new/used radiator? - "NO"

But we knew a really good welder in Kathmandu, so he welded the bigger radiator bits back together and we tried it – it didn’t leak.

MANY MANY THANKS TO THE WELDERS, FROM KATHMANDU TO LONDON – THERE COULD BE NO OVERLANDS WITHOUT WELDERS!!
